Post  vinoth b on Thu Mar 11, 2010 7:07 am

> When you do a port forwarding, port triggering or DMZ on a Netgear router for Audio issues pls make a note of the feature called Port scanning.
> Port scanning is a Feature which is used in Netgear router to scan all the data which is Transmitted using the UDP port.
> Even though you do a port forwarding, port triggering or DMZ on the netgear router the audio issue will not be fixed until you disable the Port scanning option.
> This Option will be avilable under the option called port forwarding/ port triggering.

Ip reservation...

Post  vinoth b on Thu Mar 11, 2010 7:15 am

If you have issue where a Vonage Device is not Getting a Ip from a Router but same Router giving a IP to a computer or Other Device.
> Basic troubleshooting is like static ip or chaning the Ethernet cable.
> Some times even that might not workout.
> in that case pls check for IP reservation or Mac Reservation.
> All router have this option which give Ip address to only based on MAC Address of the Device.
> If the Mac Address is not Registered then Vonage Device will never Get a Ip address.

N band wireless..

Post  vinoth b on Thu Mar 11, 2010 10:18 pm

i have mentioned in the previous reply that Net gear with N band...

N band is the recent wireless spectrum which work on 2.4 or 5 GHz. They support wireless speed up to 150 Mbps(Mega bits per second not Mega bytes per second).

where as the g band can Support only upto 54 Mbps..

This is the Basic Difference....For Further info in n band please check the link -----
